PTI Make It Monday #101: Layered Embossing - Set #2

I decided to play around a little bit more with the Layered Embossing MIM technique because 1) I couldn't decide which stamp to use originally, and 2) I actually found a scrapbooking store in Mexico City via pure luck (thank you, targeted Facebook ads) that had clear embossing powder.  I made this set of 4 mostly to see how the different designs would layer.  I am not a fan of the gold tree trump (for this tree, I embossed the top first, then the trunk), but I think the clear embossing worked fairly well.  The color is the most true in the set of 4....I need to find a better way to photograph my cards for this blog :)

PTI Make It Monday #101: Layered Embossing

I had fun playing with this week's MIM video on Layered Embossing.  I decided on the "Tweet Talk" Stamp Set and Linen embossing plate.  The gold thread didn't do as well in my machine as I hoped, but I decided to leave it, as a rarely scrap with gold.

PTI Make It Monday #100: How to Package Cards with Oversized Embellishments

This card is for a co-worker getting married in a few weeks.  I kept the packaging for the oversized card super simple to highlight the hard inside.  Flower stamps & die are PTI, congratulations sentiment in Stampin' Up!

PTI Make It Monday #99: Repeats & Rainbows

It's January, time to try new things.  This year, I'm going to try and stretch myself to try new things...what better way to participate in PTI's Make-it-Monday challenge each week?  Maybe I'll even be able to pull off making the card Monday or Tuesday vs. Sunday night :)

I used the die cut from PTI's bead set and one of their classic sentiments.  As the die makes 6 beads, I made a set of six cards, with a variety of sentiments.  Let's see what tomorrow's challenge brings :)

Shoes!

One more post for the day :) Given the time it took to color this shoe, I think I'll go with the tone-on-tone in the future!

Prior Cards!

Since I am just starting up this Blog, I will post some of my prior cards as "catch up."  I primarily use Stampin' Up and Papertrey products.  Living in Mexico, I order online and stock up a lot when I am back in the US or when family visits us in Mexico!!  I tried to post unique creations only, vs. cards I've "scraplifted" off Pinterest!!

I made this card at a little Hacienda on a Mexican vacation :)  The Stamps are Stampin' Up! and the sentiment is Papertrey Ink.

Papertrey sentiment

I love how versatile this design is with any sentiment!

One of my favorite cards.  I love stamps and punches or dies that coordinate.  Sentiment is Papertrey (love that they came out with a Spanish set!!) and everything else is Stampin' Up!

I made this right after buying a sewing machine.  I had to try out all the fun stitching!

I made this card for my husband's cousin's wedding.  Then I forgot to send it to the US with my mother in law to mail :(

Once of my all time favorite cards!  Super colorful :)  Stamp & die are Papertrey Ink.

Love this tree set...and the embossed background works perfectly :)

Stamp stamp with colors for each of the season (a little funny, since there aren't really "seasons" in Mexico City!).

My kids are invited to gobs of Birthday Parties, so I always need to have Kids Birthday Cards on hand.  Love this set from Papertrey Ink.

These flowers are gorgeous.  Everything except the Congratulations Stamp is Papertrey.  Sentiment is Stampin' Up!

I made these 2 cards one weekend when we had to cancel a last minute weekend trip since my daughter got sick.  So I scrapped alllllll weekend instead.

These are leftover cutouts from the Papertrey Wine tag die.  Super easy to emboss & reuse!

Played around with a friend's stamp set....and then bought it of course :)

I made these cute Starbucks Gift Card holders for all my kid's teachers this year.

Putting good use to the new Stamps I just got for Christmas :)

Papertrey Hexagon die & stamps - love this set and color combo!!

Ok, all caught up!!

PTI Make it Monday Chalkboard Technique

THIS is my very first Blog post!  I am always crafting and looking for a way to save ideas I've made for the future, so what better way to save them than to upload and pin them?  And, this way I can participate in fun things like Papertrey Ink's Make-it-Monday Chalkboard challenge!
